‘See you in court, secretary’: Kristi Noem interview answer labeled ‘admission’ by experts
just now (305+ words) Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem gave an interview answer on Sunday that some experts and political observers determined was an "admission" warranting legal action. Noem appeared on NBC News over the weekend, where she was asked about how she reportedly rejected a court's order. Kristin Welker asked, "The DOJ said that when the administration was ordered to stop sending detained migrants to a mega-prison in El Salvador, you personally made the final call to continue the flights anyways. Is that correct?" to which Noem replied, "The decisions that are made on deportations, where flights go or when they go, are my decision." Welker further pressed Noem, asking, "So you're saying it was your decision. The judge wanted to ensure that people were given due process'Did you defy the court's order?" Chelsea Player Ratings vs. Arsenal: Blues Burn Bright in Battling Derby
just now (903+ words) The spoils were shared between London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, despite the hosts playing almost an hour of the game with 10 men. The 11 draw meant we saw a repeat of last season's result at Stamford Bridge, and although the Premier League-leading Gunners would've been content with a point beforehand, the events that played out in west London mean Chelsea left the happier of the two teams. However, the Blues, who took a second half lead through Trevoh Chalobah, were unable to close the gap on Arsenal at the summit, primarily because of Mois's Caicedo's warranted first-half red card, and Manchester City will finish the weekend in second after they just about got past Leeds United on Saturday. GK: Robert S'nchez8.3: Commanded his box impressively, with Arsenal's crosses handled well by the Spaniard when he went out to…...
Rangers’ Adam Fox being placed on long-term IR, expected to miss 'multiple weeks': report
just now (165+ words) The Rangers will be without defenseman Adam Fox for the foreseeable future. After leaving Saturday's loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning with what the team is calling an upper-body injury, Fox is being placed on long-term IR due to a left shoulder injury and is expected to miss "multiple weeks," according to Vince Mercogliano of The Athletic. By rule, Fox will miss a minimum of 10 games and 24 days, but the Rangers can exceed the salary cap to a certain point as long as Fox remains sidelined. Fox skated off to the locker room after taking a hard shoulder-to-shoulder check from Tampa Bay forward Brandon Hagel along the boards in the third period and was unable to return to the game. Fox not only makes up half of their top defensive pairing, but he also drives this team's offense and is…...
Bangladesh’s ex-PM Khaleda in critical condition, exiled son says his return not in his hands
just now (252+ words) DHAKA (Reuters): Bangladesh's former prime minister Khaleda Zia remains in "very critical" condition at a Dhaka hospital, her party said on Sunday, as her self-exiled son and acting party chief Tarique Rahman signaled uncertainty over his return. Khaleda, 80, who is the leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, was admitted to a private hospital on November 23 with a severe chest infection affecting her heart and lungs, doctors and senior party officials said. Her party has regained prominence after Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh's long-serving former prime minister, was ousted in a student-led uprising last year. Rahman, who has lived in London since 2008, wrote on Facebook on Saturday that his return to Bangladesh was "not entirely" in his control, fueling speculation over political or legal hurdles. The interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus later said it had "no restrictions or objections" to…...
2025 UK Championship: 'Better than ever' Neil Robertson moves into last 16
1+ min ago (638+ words) Neil Robertson won his latest ranking title in August when he beat Ronnie O'Sullivan 10-9 in the Saudi Arabia Masters final Former world champion and world number one Neil Robertson believes he is playing "better than ever" having continued his fine season by moving into the last 16 of the UK Championship. The Australian is third in the world rankings and beat Belgium's Julien Leclercq 6-2 in the opening round on Sunday for his first victory in the tournament since he gained the third of his three UK titles in 2020. A break of 105 put the 43-year-old 3-1 ahead against 22-year-old UK debutant Leclercq, who is ranked 79th and had to win three qualifying matches to get to York. Leclercq pulled it back to 3-2, but Robertson won the final three frames to comfortably advance. It continues a remarkable recovery from Robertson, who dropped out of the…...
KP CM Afridi alleges Imran held in isolation since Nov 4
1+ min ago (303+ words) PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has stated that Imran Khan has been kept in complete isolation since November 4, and no one is being allowed to meet him, which is a highly alarming situation. He clarified that neither his sisters, nor party leadership, nor lawyers, nor doctors are being allowed to meet him. He has been placed in complete solitary confinement. The Chief Minister further stated that it has been decided in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will strongly pursue its rightful claim in the NFC meeting scheduled for December 4. He made it clear that while the administrative merger of the former FATA has taken place, the financial merger has not yet been completed, which is a great injustice to the province. The Constitution states that the NFC share must be distributed among all…...
Column: Florida's coaching search ends in anger, disbelief for vocal group of Gators fans
1+ min ago (121+ words) Florida didn't land Lane Kiffin, leading a significant portion of the fanbase to express their anger and frustration upon Jon Sumrall's hiring Let's get this out of the way from the jump before moving on: Jon Sumrall may very well end up being successful at Florida. While many are rushing to proclaim the hiring of Sumrall as an absolute failure by the Florida athletic department, it's too soon to know, with his success or lack thereof in Gainesville being determined solely by his on-field results in the years ahead. His demeanor should appeal more to a frustrated, if not incensed, Florida fanbase than former head coach Billy Napier's did, which should in theory help Sumrall appeal to Florida fans....
IRS releases $8.2 million lien on Terry Rozier's Florida residence
1+ min ago (136+ words) NBA guard Terry Rozier has one less legal problem to worry about. Via Daniel Libit of Sportico.com, the IRS filed last month a certificate releasing an $8.2 million tax lien on Rozier's Florida residence. The assessment originally was made in August 2023. The release was filed one day after ESPN reported on its existence. And after Rozier's attorney, Jim Trusty, disputed the existence of the lien. Rozier is currently under indictment, accused of rigging "under" props by providing inside information regarding a plan to leave a game early with an injury. Rozier denies the allegations; Trusty has said Rozier plans to plead not guilty at his arraignment, on December 8. Rozier is one of more than 30 defendants in a case that also involved an allegedly rigged poker game tied to the mafia....
